NYX Chrome Shadow Review
NYX Chrome Shadows
I love NYX (Pronounced as Nix) chrome shadows. I find them to be the next best thing since sliced bread. Especially if you are on a budget. You can find these at beauty supply stores, cherryculture.com, nyxcosmetics.com and small boutiques. Some colors are very similar to MAC’s pigments but come in a much smaller container. I was lucky enough to have a few that were almost dupe’s of MAC’s pigments so I added pics of those too.

- Color Assortment- High, there are about 60 shades all vibrant and unique. 24 different color glitters.
- What is it for- Used as eyeshadow, but some colors can be used as highlighter on cheeks and lips.
- Longevity- Use a good base and it will last all day. Glitters- use Duo glue, cream base, or Benefit Shelaq to adhere glitter onto face. Use with Mixing Mediums for liquid liner look.
- Price- $3.99-$5.00
- Texture- Soft easy to blend, and is not chunky. Use a MAC 239 or a firm brush to pack on the color for that intense look.
- Similar to –MAC Pigments, Loreal Hip Pigments, Urban Decay Pigments.
Swatches are applied with damp brush to display intensity.
- Red- This is a satin like red with a blue pink base. It is not frosty, more matte with slight shimmer.
- Platinum- Solid liquid metal silver.
- Geisha- This is a different color, this is almost like a reddish bronze.
- Fucshia- (Duo tone) This is a pretty blue-ish pink. If you have ever seen MAC’s Pink Pearl, this is very similar but not as frosty.
- Lemon Drop- Reddish pink color. I don’t love it.
- Yellow- Bright yellow, this has a satin finish frosty yellow with slight glimmer. Smoother in texture than MAC’s Golden Lemon.
- Pearl White- This is an intense shimmery white shadow. Can be used as highlighter on brow bone and on lids. If you have MAC’s Vanilla this is a very similar in texture, but is white, while MAC’s Vanilla is more champagne. Compared to MAC’s Frost Pigment this is similar in shade, but MAC’s Frost is slightly frostier.
- Keylime- Lime green frosty shadow
- Hot Pink- Bright pink shadow. Very similar to MAC’s crystallize glitter.
- Sunset- Bright Orange. Very similar to MAC’s crystallize glitter.
- Disco Ball- Muli- colored silver glitter. Similar to MAC’s 3d glitter but much smaller in size.
Echo Green – Lime Green. Very similar to MAC’s crystallize glitter.

I left MAC’s Golden Lemon a bit chunky so you can see the texture
